Our tool/burr extensions are available in 2 configurations, press-in and lock nut style.

What is a tool/burr extension?

1. A burr extension is used in conjunction with carbide burrs for hand grinding and shaping on a variety of metals.

2. Typically, the most commonly used burr extension is 1½” to 21/2” in length.

3. Zero-Collet extensions are available that allow the user to access hard to reach areas, and are available in length’s from 4” to 18”.

4. We also refer to them as tool extensions, as many times a stone or sanding tool is also used for de-burring.

5. The shank diameters that are most widely used are 1/8” and ¼”.

6. Very small tools, known as dental burrs, are also used frequently, and have shank size of 3/32”.
